Not Boring, But Peace

In last week’s video for “The Reason For Pain” series (Episode 5 - The Interest), I was looking at how since The Fall, we have become beasts of burden who have a compulsion for struggle and toil, and who tragically become bored with peace.

Quite coincidentally, I took a photo of my dog at the weekend as we were sitting out in the garden on a sunny day, and before I posted it to my Instagram, I was looking for an appropriate quote to describe the moment. This is the quote I found:

Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.”―Milan Kundera

“That’s it!” I thought. In Eden, doing nothing wasn’t boring - it was peace. One day, on the New Earth it will be the same again. There, doing nothing won’t be boring - it will be peace.
