In the last video, we were looking at the Bible's teaching that the church should be one, without division. After considering those passages, I asked if we should say goodbye to denominations, and what would happen if every Christian, rather than seeking out a specific denomination that suits them best, simply went to their local church to unite with local believers, whatever that may look like.
After inviting discussion on the topic, many people responded saying that this was a nice idea, but ultimately too idealistic, as Christians of different traditions wouldn't really be able to get along under one roof. There would soon be arguments over church structure, worship styles, and theology.
These are understandable concerns (and I suspect they may be true), so out of curiosity, I've been running an experiment for that past few years to see if I could personally attend *my* local church...despite knowing it was a denomination I'm not comfortable with and would likely contain people with whom I disagree theologically.
Could we get along? In this video, I'll talk about my experiences!
