A recent study has found that young people identifying as LGBT has fallen off a cliff in the last year, suggesting that a previous spike from around 2019 was nothing more than a social contagion.

We've seen lots of these types of contagions in recent times. There has been the Trans Contagion. The Gender Fluid Contagion. The Palestine Contagion. The ADHD Contagion. And many more.

Which made me wonder, "is there a limit to what social contagions can make people do? Or is there a subset of people who will do literally anything to fit in?"
