In the Parable of the Talents, Jesus tells of a nobleman who goes away on a trip, leaving some money for his servants to invest. Two servants invest the money well and are praised for it, while one doesn't and is reprimanded. Although the meaning is clear, I recently came across a "Progressive Pastor" who was offended about the capitalist imagery, and who inverted the story to fit his worldview. In his version, the faithful servants become evil and the evil servant becomes good. Liberal or "Progressive Christians" do this kind of thing a lot--inverting good and evil--and it's time we talked about it...
